We recently hired Martyn to carry out restoration work on our 19th century terrace property, including rebuilding the chimney stack and pots, removing paint from the rear brickwork, and repairing two original window arches.
From start to finish, Martyn was excellent. His communication was clear and consistent throughout the project. We always knew what stage the work was at and what to expect next. Importantly for a house of this age, Martyn used a traditional lime mortar and carefully colour-matched it to the existing mortar, so the repairs blend seamlessly with the original brickwork. This attention to detail makes a huge difference and ensures the building both looks right and performs properly, and it retains its heritage and value.
The quality of the finished work speaks for itself. The chimney looks fantastic and structurally sound and in keeping with the age of the house, the cleaned brickwork has completely transformed the rear elevation, and the restored window arches retain their original character while now feeling secure and properly supported.
